Seems like anyone can make a website these days, especially to pretend that they are someone they're not. A few days ago, an unknown person created a blog and placed a fake comment from The Weinstein Company, confirming a fourth installment of "Scream." Here is what the site claims the studio said:
"The Scream franchise has become a cult classic. Together, all three movies have grossed over $300 million at the box office, just in the United States alone. The fans have been asking for a 4th Scream movie for years and we're finally giving it to them. As far as details go, we're only in the planning stages and we may not get around to it [Scream 4] for quite some time, but rest assured, it will happen."
Lots of sites ran this story as factual, but Bloody-Disgusting checked in with the studio only to find out that there is no plans for another "Scream" installment and that the comment was completely made up. Did anyone actually want another "Scream" film?
