Here is an international poster for the upcoming animated "Beowulf" film, featuring the mighty warrior holding a sword. This particular image is being used as advertising all over New York City, with large banners hung on lots of building including Madison Square Garden.
In this animated film, the mighty warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) slays the demon Grendel (Crispin Glover) and incurs the wrath of its monstrous yet seductive mother (Angelina Jolie), in a conflict that transforms a king into a legend.
Director Robert Zemeckis (Forest Gump, Back to the Future) has been pioneering PC (Performance Capture) animation and has already used it in the Tom Hanks film "The Polar Express." Unfortunately "Express" suffered from a serious problem that's known as "dead eye syndrome," where the eyes do not move, making the character look lifeless and evil. Since then, PC technology has evolved, and with new tricks, "Beowulf" has been said to look perfect. It is scheduled to hit theaters on November 16th in conventional and IMAX theaters.
