Animated "Resident Evil" in the Works Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan and game maker Capcom will jointly produce feature toon "Biohazard: Degeneration," based on the "Resident Evil" films and games. The "Resident Evil" franchise is known as the "Biohazard" series in Japan.

Scheduled for release in the latter half of 2008, the toon, like the other "Resident Evil" pics, is based on a hit horror game that Shinji Mikami created and Capcom developed for the Sony PlayStation. Since its debut in 1996, the game and its series successors have sold 33 million units worldwide.

The toon will be 3-D CG and based on an original story; the helmer and other cast and crew are yet to be announced.

Hopefully this will be closer to the original game, as none of the films are that close to the game series to be honest. It would be great to see it stick more to the story and characters in the games......just been playing the re-make of the original on the wii and it's great! ; p

the third movie of resident evil kinda turned me off too i dunno why they end the movie so quick they left so many stuff into the story and theres no chris redfield story on that movie they just end it with a whole mess of alice clones to attack wesker. but the movie was a disappointment to and the fans of the game and i'm a fan of the game and i haven't played them in along time. i hope this animated movie or series is better than the real life movie version.

I was waiting for them to start something like this. There just selling themselfs out mroe and more, never was a fan of resident evil games except the first one. the movies were dim as well.

FINALLY!! and they better BASE IT ON THE GAME!!!! with the same characters (Chris, Jill, Leon, etc), and areas.
