Nine "The Golden Compass" Character Posters

Sina got their hands on nine new posters for the upcoming "The Golden Compass" film, with eight of them being character posters, featuring some of the actors that will make an appearance in the movie.

The story revolves around a young girl named Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards), who journeys to the far North to save her best friend and other kidnapped children from terrible experiments by a mysterious organization. For more on this movie, check out the trailer.

Chris Weitz, brother and frequent collaborator of Paul Weitz ("American Pie," "About a Boy"), directed this newest fantasy adaptation that is bound to be filled with all sorts of mystical creatures. The studio is hoping the flick will dominate this year's holiday season when it hits theaters on December 7th.
