Thomas Jane will make his feature directing debut on The Dark Country, a noir thriller that is being shot in 3-D high definition, as well as 2-D high-definition, according to Variety. Tab Murphy (Tarzan) wrote the script.

The thriller concerns a couple who find their honeymoon to be a hellish adventure. The Film has just begun shooting in Albuquerque, N.M.

The cast includes Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Lauren German (Hostel: Part II).

The Dark Country will be released by one of Sony's theatrical labels, and it is one of the first films being shot simultaneously in 3-D to take advantage of the growing number of theaters that are being retrofitted for 3-D to accommodate films like the James Cameron-directed Avatar, but can play in 2-D theaters as well.

Well, it should be interesting. It is not unheard of an actor wanting to go into directing. Plus he might make a good director.
