CinemaBlend has received a scoop about who might play Edgar Allan Poe in the upcoming Sylvester Stallone-directed film about the famous poet. At one point, Robert Downey Jr. was rumored to be up for the role, which apparently is not the case anymore.
"Stallone has recently met with Viggo Mortensen and has offered him the role of Edgar Allan Poe in the film," revealed the scooper. "Mortensen is considering the role although he wants some slight revisions in the script."
The new movie, entitled "Poe," will revolve around the life of the legendary American writer, from his famous works and bouts with madness and depression, to his mysterious death in 1849.
