Death Threats on "Rambo" Set

Filming the new "Rambo" film on the war-torn border between Thailand and Myanmar (formerly Burma) was a risky business, star Sylvester Stallone has apparently revealed.

"There were a lot of people trying to dissuade us from doing it - there were a lot of threats to myself and the crew," he told Access Hollywood. "There were some formidable death threats."

The fourth sequel in the "Rambo" film franchise was directed and co-written by Stallone, who returns as the Vietnam veteran. The film is slated for release on January 25th, 2008.

"This is a war that has been going on for 60 years," Stallone commented about Myanmar. "Usually when you get to the set or the hotel, you're fine. But I was worried for the people travelling back and forth because things could happen."

If that wasn't enough, Stallone and the crew experienced some Thai trouble too. "The day we landed is when Thailand had their coup," he said.
