"The Golden Compass" Missing Ending

"The Golden Compass" Missing Ending

People that have seen "The Golden Compass" noticed that the film ended very abruptly. Apparently, the last three chapters of the book, which the movie is based on, were completely ignored.

We have received several emails that the filmmakers have actually filmed a final scene that did not make it into the movie, which you can check out for yourself below. If there is a sequel, we might get to see this scene in it, according to a visual effects house, Rhythm & Hues. "The decision was made to have the movie end slightly earlier than the first book ends, so there's a scene at the end of first book, ... the plans right now I believe are to start the second movie with that scene."

At this point, it seems very doubtful that a sequel will be made. "The Golden Compass" cost $180 million to make, and pulled in only $25 million domestically, during the opening weekend.

I was incredibly disappointed with the movie. I noticed the movie ending way to early, plus there was the battle of Svlengar occuring before the battle of Bolvangar, and as I recall Billy Costas never had his daemon taken from him, it was another boy Lyra found, who ended up dying.

The last few chapters of the book WERE FILMED! You can see clips from them in the theatrical trailer: Mrs. Coulter screaming "Come to me, Lyra!", with Lyra yelling back "I'm not yours! I'll never be yours!", and Asriel walking into the Northern Lights.
It WAS ALL FILMED. But cut from the theatrical edition. It *WILL* be on the DVD, seeing as we won't be seeing the sequels.

This movie will probably make more money over Christmas than in its first week.
