"Transporter 3" Hires Director

According to FilmsActu, Olivier Megaton has been hired to helm the upcoming third installment of "Transporter." The first film was directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) and Corey Yuen, which went on to earn $44 million worldwide on a $21 million budget. Leterrier later came back for the sequel, which earned $85 million worldwide on a $32 million budget.

The third film is scheduled to begin production next summer, with casting still under way. It is assumed that Jason Statham will return to reprise his role of Frank Martin.

Megaton has previously directed the 2002 film "The Red Siren" and was the second united director on "Hitman," having shot the entire subway fight scene.
