ComingSoon is reporting that Jimmy Bennett has been cast as the young James Kirk in the upcoming JJ Abrams-directed "Star Trek" film. Bennett is 11 years old, about to turn 12 on February 9th, and has appeared in such films as "Hostage," "The Amityville Horror," "Firewall," "Poseidon" and "Evan Almighty.
Earlier, Leonard Nimoy mentioned that there will be three Spocks in the film. "I am Spock, and there is another Spock and there is another Spock," he said. "There are a total of three Spocks in the movie."
We know that Nimoy will appear as the older Spock, Zachary Quinto will be the young adult Spock, and it has been rumored that a kid Spock will be in the film as well. It only makes sense that we will have three Kirk's as well. There is Bennett as the young Kirk, Chris Pine as the young adult Kirk, leaving only the older Kirk remaining. Hmm... who could play him?
