Englund Won't Reprise Freddie Krueger Role in Remake

Posted by Cricou 646 days ago
Actor Robert Englund has ruled himself out of the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street remake--because he's "too old."

The 58-year-old played movie ghoul Freddie Krueger in the 1984 Wes Craven original and its sequels, but has not been asked to reprise his role in the big-screen comeback.

He says, "I'm too old for this new version; otherwise, it would be Freddie vs. Viagra."

"They" shouldn't be re-making this movie let alone even considering it. Movies shouldn't be re-made unless maybe there is advance is movie making technology (i.e 1950's movies being remade now-a-days -
Black/white to color amongst other advantages) or maybe to update an idea and introduce it to a new generation.
The original is still current with-in pop-culture and simply doesn't need a re-make.
Hey I have an idea... Maybe spend time and efforts on an actual original concept!!

If Michael Bay remakes A Nightmare On Elm St... its going to be (a different) Freddy with slow-motion explosions and spinning camera shots. :(

I'm 100 % agree... Freddie Krueger can't be Freddie Krueger without Englund !

They shouldn't be re-making Elm Street anyway especially not now without Englund!
