so what if she wants her baby to speak spanish?? i dont think she's dumb, but if she doesnt know spanish now then it'll b hard 2 learn b4 her baby is born - ive been taking spanish 4 2years now + i'd still b clueless teaching some1 else (esp. a baby) on such short notice + w/o being able 2 speak english. but i think that if she wants her baby to speak spanish then she should b able 2 teach her baby spanish

This could have been written a little more objectively. That said- I would love to teach my kids Irish but my husband and I speak English to our son... because we live in Illinois, it's our first language and everybody here speaks it. Teaching multiple languages to your children is great- they even learn it better than adults do. But if she tries to restrict her children from English until pre-school they'll be outcasts. If "they're gonna learn it anyway" than speak both English AND Spanish to them! Learn the language with them. Unless they will be living in a very Spanish/Latin/Mexican/whatever area this is not very constructive at all.

this article is totally opinionated if se wants to learn spanish and teach it o her kids than thats ok!! she can do what ever the hell she wants its her fricken kid latinos should be able to speak spanish its their native alnguage!!
