Charlize Theron refuses to bow to the pressure of the tabloid press - insisting journalists are out to ruin her career. The Monster star accuses the media of trying to influence her decisions and condemns them for giving fans a false representation of her lifestyle.

She says, "Everyone is just waiting for you to fall on your face. So if I start making decisions based on what others think I should be doing, I am just getting myself into hot water. So I just try and do things that I feel - no matter what happens at the end of the day, no matter what you guys say about how and no matter how much money it makes at the box office - I really wanted to do."

"I think we live in a culture where we want to raise people and see them fall. That's what the tabloids are all about. Why do we have tabloids? We want to see (celebrities) do embarrassing things."

    she is so right they have so much mess in those papers. just reading the headlines gets you going. just like we like to keep some things private the stars should be able to have a private life too. we don't need to know everything. if they could they tell us what and how they do it in the bedroom

    Of course the tabs are ridiculous, some people will write anything so they can make a descent dollar. It's pretty sad but basically impossible to stop. Got to love the fiesty Charlize though, and good to see her always speaking her mind and standing up for herself in a positive manner. She has great integrity in her work and in her words, and that will always make her a fan favorite for movie goers for years to come. You can't really knock an artist who is brave and continues to challenge themselves in my opinion.
