Scott Patterson Gives "Saw V" and "Saw VI" Update

IGN recently spoke to Scott Patterson, who had a notable role in "Saw IV" as Strahm, the FBI agent who found himself trapped in a bad situation as the film ended. Patterson will be reprising that role in "Saw V" and revealed that he hadn't seen a script yet, but that production begins very soon – on March 17th -- noting that the producers are always "very secretive."

Patterson said that when it comes to getting hints on what's next in the extremely interconnected series, the actors are given some information but, "They don't give you much. And we're not really permitted to talk about it. The level of secrecy... I signed all these forms. They could take away my house if I mentioned a storyline."

Patterson is actually signed for the series through "Saw VI," though he stressed, "Well, they can kill off any character at any time – as you've seen. I'll be doing V and I'm signed for VI – but that doesn't mean I'll actually be in it or do it. It's their option."

The actor told us about the difficulties of working on the films, saying, "There's a lot of choices that can't be made because it doesn't fit into scene six of the first 'Saw' movie. A scene in one film informs the next and so on in every direction possible. And also there's things that the director knows that will be happening in V and VI that will dictate notes that he gives you on a scene. So he can't tell you much, but all he can say is, 'You really can't make that choice because it won't fly in VI... and then they'll have to rewrite VI...' It does get a little confusing at times. But as long as you don't knock over the furniture and slip on the blood, you're OK."

I love the Saw movie series! It blows my mind the people that think these things up. I am wondering within the next movies coming out, if they will mention anything about the first one, the gut who cut off his ankel. Did he make it out ok, or did he die, from major blood lose?

I LOVED the Saw movies, 1-3 were great. Part 4 REALLY disappointed me. They really need to stop.

The plots are what I like about the series--how it just builds itself off of the previous ones, while also learning more about Jigsaw and his motives. I didn't like III that much, but after seeing IV, I got a better understanding of it.

I haven't seen IV so, I'm still tripping off of part 3, LOL. But I LOVE the Saw plots... it's the torture/death scenes I don't particularly like!

Damn..the first 3 series was okay but now the plot is getting really stupid..Everybody don't care about the plot just the new mechanisms that are brought to the screen to kill the helpless victims.
