Roger Moore To Bring Back 'The Saint'

Veteran British actor Roger Moore is teaming up with his son Geoffrey to produce a new version of his classic 1960s spy thriller The Saint. The former James Bond star, 80, is currently working on bringing the popular series back to life for a two-hour TV movie special.

Moore, who produced and directed several of the original shows, is reportedly keen to sign up Brit actor James Purefoy - who is best known for his starring part in historical drama Rome - to play leading character Simon Templar. Filming on the one-off movie is set to begin next month, with sets in Budapest, Hungary and Puerto Rico.

Moore played the fictional detective Templar in the original series from 1962 until 1969. The show also became a hit abroad and was aired in the U.S. in the 1960s.
