Watching the Detectives is showing this weekend at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. The Desert Sun ran a brief review:
Murphy is a chameleon in an American accent, while (Lucy) Liu is genuinely funny as Violet. (Paul) Soter's script could be stronger, but in terms of character development and sense of the comedy in ordinary life, he's written a film that's a good choice to spend your 93 minutes with.
