According to JimHillMedia, Disney could possibly end "The Chronicles of Narnia" franchise after only three installments. The reason is that the studio wants to focus more on the long-gestating "John Carter of Mars" film series instead. Here is what the site had to say:

"Studio suits seem to be cooling to the idea of producing movie versions of all seven of C.S. Lewis's Narnia books. And unless 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' does truly huge box office once it's released to theaters in May of this year ... Disney & Walden Media (i.e. Mickey's partner on the Narnia film series) will probably still go forward with production of the already-in-development 'The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.' But after that ... The Mouse would then mostly likely pull the plug on the rest of the proposed Narnia film series."

The story revolves around a Civil War veteran who retreats into a cave to avoid capture by Apache Indians. He takes an otherworldly turn as he's transported via time portal to the planet of Barsoom and taken prisoner by 12-foot-tall green men.

Apparently, Mark Andrews (Ratatouille) has already written a script for "John Carter" that the studio is very pleased with. Director Andrew Stanton (Wall-E) will soon meet with producers to come up with a plan for the new franchise. The first film could be released by 2012 or evey earlier.

No way they can't do this, i mean what's the whole point of making the first 2 Chronicles of Narnia flims if they aren't going to make the rest, i think once u start something u should finish it. Man, i am going to be so disappointed if Disney does decide to drop them.
