Yesterday, we posted a photo of Johnny Depp from the set of "Public Enemies," which is directed by Michael Mann (Heat) and is currently shooting in Columbus, Wisconsin. Today, Hollywood Newsroom got their hands on seven more shots, which you can check out below.
Depp stars as John Dillinger, a famous gangster who the federal government attempts to take down in the 1930s. Channing Tatum will play outlaw Pretty Boy Floyd, Giovanni Ribisi will play Alvin Karpis, Stephen Dorff will play Homer Van Meter, and Jason Clarke will play John "Red" Hamilton. That quartet comprised a Dillinger gang that knocked off banks all over the Midwest during the Depression.
Christian Bale is also on board as Melvin Purvis, who was tapped by FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover to lead a manhunt that established the FBI as the country's first federal police force after the G-Men killed Dillinger outside the Biograph Theater in 1934.
Bale spoke about the movie with Entertainment Weekly: "That's actually what I'm doing right now," he said. "I don't actually start until next week, but so far, just loving it, loving working with Michael [Mann], the research, the detail, liking it very much."
