Rhona Mitra Cast in "Underworld" Prequel

SCI FI PI visited the set of the new "Underworld" prequel, entitled "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," which is currently being shot in giant warehouses in the outskirts of Auckland.
According to the site, Rhona Mitra (Doomsday) has been cast as Sonja, who is "Viktor's daughter, vampire lover of werewolf Lucian and cause of all the fuss that is the thousand year war between wolf and bat."
Kate Beckinsale and director Len Wiseman will not return to act and direct, but Wiseman has signed on to produce. Instead, Patrick Tatopolous will take over helming duties; he and Wiseman have worked together on the first two films.
Tatopolous commented on the plot of the new movie, stating: "It's the 'cousin' of the first two films, with the story focused on the history of the werewolves and their rise from slavery."
