Video: Nick Fury in "Iron Man"

"Iron Man" is currently playing in theaters, with many fans expecting to see Samuel L Jackson show up as Nick Fury. Unfortunately, many of those fans are returning from watching the movie without even catching a glimpse of Jackson. The reason is because they did not wait until the credits finished rolling.

At the end of the movie, audiences are treated to a scene where Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) enters his home, only to be greeted by Nick Fury (Jackson), who wants to discuss the Avengers initiative.

Clearly, some movie-goers knew what to expect, because today we have the Nick Fury scene, which was recorded with a cell phone. The quality is terrible, but we will soon replace it with something better.

    And don't forget about Jarvis.

Even though he's a Skrull now, he's The Avengers butler.

Attn: comicgeek (and probably other readers as well) NO you're not the only one who waited until the end credits to see the scene at the end of the credits that introduced Nick Fury and "Shield"

I frequently annoy my friends by doing something similar to this when waiting for the music credits to appear, so to have my friends wait for this (because one of my friends also mentioned this) was it worth while? yes. could it have featured before the credits rolled? probably also yes, but it has guaranteed at least one sequel.

There's also a scene where Terrence Howard looks at one of the suits and before walking away, said "another time". How many people actually noticed/acknowledged that? another guarantee of at least one sequel.

Shonuff1134, it's well known in comic circles that Sam Jackson was Hitch's inspiration for Fury. I'm pretty positive that's the reason that Jackson was Fury in IM.

They even had the scars on his eye under the patch.

While I would have loved to seen a more "traditional" Nick Fury, I still think it's cool that we had a Nick Fury at all.

I'm also really glad that Happy Hogan made it in the movie......and that there was a still from "Tucker: A Man and His Dream" was in the movie, since Bridges played the innovative auto designer in that one.

    Very fun movie.

This is not the original Nick Fury, this is the alternate universe Nick Fury of the Ultimate Avengers Storyline. The orignal Fury was a U.S. Army Ranger(Commando) Sergeant in World War 2 and later became director of SHEILD in the 1960's...Although I like this development (I read the Ultimates), credit should be given where credit is due...

Looking on the IMDB, I saw that Tony Stark has a cameo in Incredible Hulk, I wonder if the plan is to have Stark approach Banner to join the Avengers.

  • pardon my french, but that has got to be the biggest cocktease ever. I could only imagine if Favreau got to direct The Avengers. But they still got to get that Captain America and Thor off. That gives us a long wait for any Avengers. And any bets that the pop off a Black Panther somewhere along the way, too.

  • this makes me see just how good the art in The Ultimates comics is. He looks just like him. They even made jokes in the book about how the only person who could play him was Jackson.
