Shooting the dead takes on a whole new meaning when George A. Romero’s all-new innovative horror flick DIARY OF THE DEAD rises to DVD May 20th under the Dimension Extreme label from Genius Products and The Weinstein Company. “Hands down, the horror film to beat this year” (Bloody-disgusting.com), the fifth and latest sequel to Romero’s highly successful and popular franchise, DIARY OF THE DEAD returns to the form and feel of the original classic. While shooting their own low-budget horror movie, a group of young film students run into real-life zombies, ravenously walking corpses attacking and killing the living. Presented in a first-person style that heightens the reality of each encounter, the entire film is seen through footage from the students’ camcorders, cell phones, security cameras and news footage.
