Farina's Weapons Charges To Be Dropped To Misdemeanour

Cop-turned-actor DENNIS FARINA will not face felony charges for weapons possession following his arrest at Los Angeles International Airport in early May (08).
The Saving Private Ryan star, 64, was apprehended at L.A.X. Airport on 11 May (08) after a loaded gun was found in his briefcase as he attempted to board a plane.
He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon following the discovery of the .22 caliber, semi-automatic pistol. Authorities later discovered the gun was also unregistered.
But the former Chicago, Illinois police officer has scored a lucky break - a spokesperson at the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office has confirmed his case is now being reviewed as a possible misdemeanour.
