The ashes of late Nirvana star Kurt Cobain have been swiped from the Hollywood mansion of Kurt’s eccentric widow, rocker Courtney Love. Courtney kept the grudge legend’s ashes and a lock of hair in a pink teddy bear-shaped bag in her home. She was “horrified” to arrive home a couple of weeks ago to find the bag, along with several thousand dollars in jewelry and others valuables, missing. A devastated Courtney has reportedly been left “suicidal” by the theft.
According to NOTW:

“I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me,” Courtney is said to have told a friend.

“”They were all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me…..Now it feels like I have lost him all over again…..I find it disgusting and right now I’m suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do.”

Kurt Cobain, who long struggled with heroin addiction, committed suicide by shotgun in 1994. The ashes of the “(Smells Like) Teen Spirit” star with scattered in a Buddhist temple in New York, others were scattered in the Wishkah River near his home in Washington State, the rest remained with Courtney.

    To steal the ashes is so very wrong and to make jokes about selling them is just as wrong. Maybe the one who stole them should lose something they cherish that is of a loved one that has past to see how they like it. I might not like either Kurt or Courtney, but I respect her right to greive unlike the one who is the theif, who respects no one. Just my opinion.

    as much as i dislike courtney love, i think that it was a very disrespectful and disgusting act. maybe courtney doesn't deserve his ashes, but their daughter does. that's all she has of her late father.
