Well it’s been a long time coming and for a while there it didn’t look like it was going to happen with the Weinsteins and Rob Zombie disinterested in visiting that merry-go-round again but I think in the backs of our minds we all knew it was inevitable, even before Halloween 2007 opened.
After grossing $78 million at the box office last year and with the continuation of other slasher franchises such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th - the news that Halloween 2 is back on comes as no surprise.
Shock Till You Drop say Dimension Films are head hunting Alexander Bustillo and Julien Maury to helm - the French duo who helmed the gore-fest Inside in their native country and until a few months ago were attached to direct the Hellraiser reamke for the same studio before dropping out, are likely to be lensing.
I pretty much made it well known my hatred for the whole idea of a Halloween sequel but I will give Rob Zombie his due… your movie sucked but you did however make the most interesting “The Shape movie” I’ve seen in the franchise for a long time. What I mean is he made a great and refreshing film with Tyler Mane wearing the mask but the whole build up to it and everything else before the last 30 minutes or so was dreadful and clunky.
