Hayden Christensen Talks "Jumper" Sequel

Not only does the "Jumper" DVD hits stores today, but Hayden Christensen has now revealed to the Toronto Sun that a sequel is in the works. "We're talking about it," said Christensen. "I know that they're having those conversations, I hear about them."

When asked whether he would return to reprise his role. "Oh yeah, and I think I probably will," he said.

Director Doug Liman originally planned a movie trilogy based on Steven Gould's novel. Liman spun out a liberal re-imagining of Gould's more personal story about child abuse, which had jumping as a metaphor for escape.

"It was set up to become that -- a trilogy -- if it did well," says Christensen. "And I think they're happy with how it did so they want to make another one. But I don't think they're rushing to get into production."

"Jumper" features Christensen as a slacker with the ability to teleport to anywhere on Planet Earth he can visualize. As he settles into a life of crime, idle sex and indolent self-satisfaction, he discovers there are other Jumpers, as well as religious fanatics called Paladins who are devoted to killing Jumpers as abominations. Suddenly, being an anti-hero Jumper is no longer the easy life.
