If you’re looking for a new movie to check out this weekend, The Happening may not be it — The Happening has gotten loads of negative reviews. In fact, some of them say The Happening is downright awful.

Metacrtic.com ranks The Happening at 38 out of 100 (generally negative reviews) among 32 movie critic reviews. And user comments are ridiculously bad — the average among 59 users is just 3.5 out of 10!

Based on these bleak The Happening reviews, sounds like you may want to skip it.

    Yeah, I don't base my tastes on others'. I don't think I'll be seeing it in the movie theaters but I'll be happy to see it once its out on DVD.

    I don't even WANT to see it and I'm sure it sucked huge ones. All "horror" movies these days do. The classics are the best always and forever.
