The Disney Channel is planning to begin production on a sequel to Camp Rock this time next year.

Plans for a follow-up were confirmed just days after the film, starring the Jonas Brothers pop trio, premiered in the US.

A script is already in development and Disney said stars including the Jonases and Demi Lovato are expected to return.

Camp Rock's first showing was seen by 8.9m on Friday, becoming the US Disney Channel's second most-watched film premiere to date. Its second outing drew 3.6m for ABC on Saturday, then another 3.7m watched on ABC Family on Sunday.

    ahhh i love the jonas brothers!!! they were great in the movie!! i love nick!!!!!!!!!! he's THE CUTEST OF ALL OF THEM!!!! he better be the star of the next movie not joe altho i do like joe too but i like nick more and i wanna see him as the star in the next movie!!!!!!!!     omg i LOVE the jonas brothers to death as singers, but i just honestly don't like them as actors! =[
    they shoud just stick to singing because they are so good at it.
    to put it nicely, acting is NOT their forte.

    this is exciting..the only concern i have is that they, like, i love high school musical but they just screwed it all up by continuing it...i'm afraid they might screw camp rock up for me with a sequel...but i am still totally psyched anyway, and nick jonas better have more camera time in this one :)

  • I have a good idea what the movie should be they should have a rival camp( like theater camp or somthing) and at the end have a big huge performance ending the grudge. JK LOL!!! that would be funny!
