Mark Wahlberg Talks "The Departed" Sequel

Mark Wahlberg Talks "The Departed" Sequel

When "The Departed" came out in 2006 and went on to win an Oscar for Best Picture, sequel/prequel news was a daily occurrence, especially since the film is based on a Hong Kong movie "Infernal Affairs," which is part of a trilogy.

Now, MTV News caught up with Mark Wahlberg to find out where "The Departed" sequel/prequel stands. "They're [still] developing it," he sighed. "If it can be better than the first, then great. I'll be all for it. I'm not interested in going for the paycheck. I love 'Godfather 2' but, then again, I don't like 'Godfather 3.'"

Last we heard, Robert De Niro was looking to join an entirely new cast for the sequel. And if everything went smoothly, most of the actors from the first film would return for the prequel.

god! The Departed is my very favorite movie!! and hearing from the sequel I don't know if i'm exited (because in this moment i'm with a big smile in my face) or if i'm disapointed beacause how can Costigan, Costello and Sullivan return if they are death. But just with hearing of Robert DeNiro it's amazing! :) yay!
