Rupert Grint has been right there with Daniel Radcliffe in trying to separate himself from his Harry Potter persona, taking on roles in independent movies like Driving Lessons. Now he's signed on for yet another indie movie, which proves to show him doing things that would definitely get you kicked out of Hogwarts.

He'll star along with two unknown actors in Cherry Bomb, according to PR Inside. The story sounds a little familiar, as well as a little salacious: Grint and Robert Sheehan will star as two young best friends who compete for the affections of a troubled girl (Kimberly Nixon). According to the article, the trio embarks "a wild weekend of drink, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars. But what starts out as a game turns deadly serious when the three discover that they can't get off the wild ride they've set in motion." Damn, love really is complicated, isn't it?

Grint's performance in Driving Lessons was received fairly well a few years ago, so this might be another chance for him to establish a career outside of the Harry Potter franchise. Or, you know, it could be another independent movie you never see, even with your raging Ron Weasley crush.

    i think he will be good in any film! i luv him - he is soo funny!! he was amazing in driving lessons too. i think he can play any role in hogwarts and out of it too!!

    i think that he did a great job at driving lessons, and i actually enjoyed, a lot!...
    plus he has a great way of showing his feelings, and even when he has a hard take to do ( like loosing his virginity) he Rocks at it!!...and an other thing to point is that he has a greart taste on choosing good indi movies,lets fece it, daniel at the dicember boys wasn`t as half as good as DL, and he is a much more grater "actor", i mean no harm, but he didn`t prove anithing in that role, exep taht he can make you fall asleep...so congrats to rupert and i definitly will go an see the movie, it dosen`t mattern if it is another independent movie, and i do have a Ron Weasley crush, or is it a rupert grint crush??...

  • i don't balme Rupert for trying to make a name for himself outside of Hogwarts, because that gig can only last for so long, i admire his acting in Harry Potter though. I am a HUGE fan.
