Rupert Grint, who is best known for his role as Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" films, will star in "Cherrybomb," a Belfast-set teen drama about two friends whose furious competition for a beautiful but manipulative girl has tragic consequences.

Kimberley Nixon (upcoming "Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging") stars as the girl, with emerging Irish actor Robert Sheehan playing best buddy and love rival to Grint's character.

The new film will be directed by first-time helmers Glen Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa, who will be working from a script by Daragh Carville (Middletown).

    He is going to be great in this movie, he was great in Driving Lessons and very good in Harry Potter. I cant wait for it.
