Back in November, we reported that Vivendi Games was working with Sony Pictures to turn "Ghostbusters" into a video game franchise. The first title in the series of games was set to release in fall of this year.
Fall is now approaching and the trailer for the "Ghostbusters" video game has appeared online, featuring scenes from the game side-by-side with scenes from the original movies.
All four members of the movie team -- Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis -- provided voice and likeness rights for the game. In addition, writers of the original movie, Aykroyd and Ramis, penned the story for the video game that takes place in the early '90s, after "Ghostbusters II," during a new ghoul invasion of New York City.
According to Amazon, the first "Ghostbusters" game will go on sale October 21st.
I realize that this is not movie news, but since we are probably not going to see "Ghostbusters III" anytime soon, a new story from the original cast and crew seems very interesting.
