HOLLYWOOD legend PAUL NEWMAN is barely recognisable as he huddles in a wheelchair, his gaunt features disguised by a cap and shades.
The Butch Cassidy star, 83 — said to be suffering from lung cancer — was leaving New York’s Sloan-Kettering Centre after treatment.
His clothes seemed to be hanging off his frail body.
Oscar-winner Newman, whose good looks helped shoot him to fame in movies such as Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler and The Color of Money, has bravely brushed off talk of illness.
But one onlooker said: “He’s a shadow of his former self.”
