A model of a spaceship from "Star Wars" has reportedly brought in a whopping $400,000 at a film memorabilia auction. The miniature replica of the TIE fighter was sold to the highest bidder at the Profiles In History sale of Hollywood film props, reports The Telegraph.
In total, more than 1,000 movie props were sold, raising more than $4 million.
Other items included the axe used in Jack Nicholson flick "The Shining," which fetched more than $30,000. The 'hoverboard' ridden by Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) in two of the popular "Back To The Future" movies in the 80s apparently sold for more than $63,000.
Joseph Maddelena, president of the US auction house, said the sale was "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" for lucky bidders "to acquire some of the most important visual effects pieces ever created for modern cinema."
