Paris Hilton is being sued by the company behind her 2006 film project "National Lampoon's Pledge This!" The Florida-based Worldwide Entertainment Group has filed the suit in Miami District Court claiming that Hilton (who received 1 million dollars and an executive producer credit on the direct to DVD pic) failed to adequately promote the film.
They may have a point. I do not recall even knowing this film existed until about 20 minutes ago. I only just learned that it is about a group of ugly college girls who want to pledge a sorority headed by a shallow blonde – that would be Paris.
Apparently "Pledge This!" was to be Hilton's very first movie role, you know - back when folks still thought "That's Hot" was cool. Production delays and disputes over Hilton's nude scenes forced the film onto the shelf for nearly two years until 2006 when it apparently debuted at The Cannes Film Festival – I know, I am having a hard time believing that as well, but Google said it was true.
Hilton, angry at the nudity, snubbed the premiere and the film died a quiet death on DVD shelves that December. It currently sits at #11 on IMDB's Bottom 100 list, where it is being kept warm by other Hilton opuses like "Bottoms Up" and "The Hottie and the Nottie." If only we had time to make this a class action lawsuit. We could all get paid back for the emotional distress brought on by watching Paris act.
