A UK poster for the upcoming Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean) film "The Duchess" has been released, featuring a shot of Knightley, with the tagline simply stating: "There are three people in her marriage."
The story is a chronicle of the life of 18th century aristocrat Georgiana, duchess of Devonshire, an ancestor of Princess Diana who was alternately celebrated and reviled for her extravagant political and personal lives.
The script is written by Jeffrey Hatcher, the man behind the 2005 "Casanova." It is directed by Saul Dibb, who has limited experience in filmmaking, having only one other feature film to his credit. All the lack of ability behind the camera is more than made up for in front, by having both Oscar-nominated Knightley and Oscar-nominated Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon) as the leads.
At this point, "The Duchess" has been picked up by a distributor and has been scheduled to appear in theaters on September 19th, in limited release.
