I used to love Harry Potter, but when I read Twilight- I couldn't stop reading them- but I had to stop because Breaking Dawn hadn't been released. I tried reading Harry potter for a bit of light reading- i couldn't get back into them. Harry Potter is for little children who believe in goblins and ghouls if you ask me! Teenagers can't read them any more! Surely if they can't grab my attention (I'm fifteen) I'm certain they can't grab anyone else of my age either. Stop insulting Twilight you potter fans! Twilight is for elder teenagers- while the Potter books are for the younger generation of about 12 and under!

Ok so Bella relies on Edward but thats cause they're in a relationship, he relies on her too. And in each book she has done something to protect everyone BUT herself. Being able to trust someone AND trust yourself at the same time. Why would u not want to be like that?

This is stupid.They both rock.Although I do like Twilight more.Bella is wimpy pysically,but she's pretty brave.Yeah,Hermione is strong and smart and she sticks with her friends,but Harry Potter was always about that kind of friendship bond between Hermione, Harry,and Ron,but Twilight isn't.It's about Edward and Bella's relationship and the love,pain,and things along the way.So,in my own personal choice,I pick Bella,because I think vampires are awesome and I love the Twilight Saga.Favorite books of all time.Plus,the characters are one of a kind.Fallen in and out of love with all of them.Harry Potter is good,but I like Twilight way more.

Bella is braver then people think, in the first book she leaves the vampires to save her mother and tries to make sure edward doesnt fight for her. she is always trying to protect everyone around her before thinking of herself. prime example is in the fourth book at the end, when her entire focus is on protecting everyone around her and not even thinking of herself.

I agree that Hermione is a better role model, but I still Love Bella. I just wish that she was a little more independent and didn't rely so much on Edward. Hermione is definitly more independent; she does what she feels is right, even when it's against the rules. Bella, not as much.

I am on neither's side, though if I had to be, I would pick Bella, for reasons that I totally disregard Harry Potter and want nothing to do with it. Your favorite characters can be role models, though I prefer to stick with people that have lived, though they are dead now; but only if they stand for the right things; and in this case, neither of the girls come to my standards.

and by the last book she pretty much *SPOILER* lunges at ron
her confidence is great and something to look up to...ppl cheer when she punches Malfoy in the face in book three
Hermione has in many ways herd Ron and Harry together so they arent magically killing each other everyday
Hermione is by far a better role model
and even though twilight are decent books the way JKR created her characters is far to incredible for even the hottest vampire to shake from its pedestal
though fans are bitter (to the person who wrote below me) most of the HP fans have also read twilight and are looking forward to that movie and so shut up till u can take the time to do the same for us.

I vote Bella. I don't believe that she's less realistic than Hermione. Sure, she has her flaws but she does what most girls would do in her situations. She's smart, though not as smart as Hermione, and she gets along with her parents, which is different from a lot of teenagers these days. I like characters to have flaws so that I can relate to them. As for being a role model, I don't think of her as a role model. I don't anybody who says, "Hmm... what would Bella do in this situation?"

I don't consider her to be a role model, but neither do I consider her wimpy. Twilight is a remarkable story, although nothing beats the Lord of the Rings. I am not and never will be a fan of Harry Potter or it's characters.

well i'm not on either teams. i sometimes don't like bella cuz she's--she's just so stupid! like she'll be thinking: "oh i'm going to go save the day by basically giving myself to a vampire whose going to kill me". and she just makes it worse.

and hermione is just a know it all in my opinion. when i watched the movies (which hasn't been in like years) i sometimes wanna stab her.

i dont really get wut the whole fuss is about, if people dont like bella or hermione deal wit it. these books are meant to be enjoyed and loved not debated on whether whose best or not.plus role models should be chosen from real people that affect our lives not to idollize a fictional character, as much as i like bella and hermione id rather see my father as a role model because hes real and his actions affect my life,anyway if people want to idolize let them,who cares we only live once, but we still have to remain a bit realistic although we can wander off to the imaginary world whenever we want because its our mind and privilege.

This rivalry between the HP fans and the Twilight fans is getting out of hand. first, most are fans of both , there is a difference between the 2 series and last, theyre both fiction! to me, it seems like theyre trying to start something and twilight isnt even in theaters yet! i can only imagnine this getting worse. By the way, i like both bella and hermione because there is a difference btwn them. thats what makes them their characters!

I will choose Hermione. She's not awkward, she's BRILLIANT AND INTELIGENT! Bella is a college girl who is in love of a vampire...all american novels got bad taste on poetry and books, and TWILIGHT is one. I prefer Harry Potter cause in Europe they love to have darker endings, not lovely endings as on TWILIGHT. Everyone knows without reading that book whose gonna end with who, and whose gonna have a baby, its an american thing. Every american novel is good, am not offending anyone, but TWILIGHT is a bad copy of old books. But about this, Hermione defenetly is my fave, I feel like her, am like her, we suffer, we fight for our rights, we dont care if we are mudbloods, anything! Bella is just of those girls who thinks she's preaty, that she is a H*, and that someone is always protecting her. HERMIONE DOSNT NEED PROTECTION! SHE KNOWS TO DEFEND HERSELF! BELLA LEARN THIS!
