Rumors of a fifth "Lethal Weapon" film have been floating around internet for a while, with Danny Glover previously stating that he would be interested in one more and so would Mel Gibson.
Now, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that writer/director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is planning to take over for Richard Donner by directing the new movie. Black previously wrote the first "Lethal Weapon" movie and has already put together a spec script for the new installment.
"Lethal Weapon 5" will revolve around the impending retirement of Martin Riggs (Gibson), who enlists his retired partner Roger Murtaugh (Glover) to help him crack one last case. In addition to the two vets, the script will also introduce a pair of young NYPD cops.
