Stan Lee: 'Smith could be black Captain'

when marvel created the "ultimate universe" they changed the race of characters from the 60's Nick Fury was made black,the wasp was made asian since these were secondary characters no one cared.This,however is just messing with character continuity.Marvel should have enough talent to come up with more ethnic characters instead of just "re-imagining" classic ones.

No, Captain America should not be black no matter what, and Will Smith can't hold a film on his own.

If Patrick Swayze wasn't too old for the role I would recomend him but please not Will Smith, Maybe John Cena

Hmmm Stan Lee kinda sounds like a dumbass, I am already seeing a Captain America reboot before this one is even made hahaha. And if Obama wins why would a lot of their characters have to be black?

Will Smith isn't a bad choice. Right now he is "Mr. Fourth of July" in Hollywood, and there are some black Captain America-type characters floating around Marvel (like Isaiah Bradley, Battlestar, Patriot), so I don't know. Just as long as they do as good a job with him as they had done with Iron Man I'll be happy.

What's all this talk about "if Barack Obama wins the election"? Is Stan Lee thinking Obama as Captain America? I think I'd rather have him as president.

Will Smith is great but ... I'm afraid Captain America has to be white (HAS TO!!!!), It's like Blade, he HAS TO be black! The character is too well known to change now. If it was a new character, I think we could make an allowance but what is marvel thinking?!?! I personally prefer DC but for Marvels sake, this isn't a good idea.

i thought mattew mconnely was playing cap i use to collect cap comics and he was white no offense to black or nonthing or will smith but if cap white then leave it at that

since Cap was a WWII hero, it would be really friggin stupid to make Cap black. I mean, the world wasn't so tolerant of black guys back then.

Black Nick Fury was cool, I dunno about Cap.
