Brad Pitt Back At The Trojan War

If you were ever concerned that there would be a sequel to Troy, don't let today's news dishearten you. Yes, it's true, Brad Pitt will probably be starring in The Odyssey, which is what you could call the sequel to The Iliad, which was the inspiration for Troy. And yes, he's making it with Warner Bros. again. But there are a few crazy X-factors that will make this one different, namely George Miller, the future, and outer space.

Variety says that Pitt is already producing, and Miller is signed on to direct. The story, about Odysseus' long, strange journey home after fighting the Trojan War, will be transferred to "a futuristic setting in outer space," which could mean literally anything. I like the idea of a fresh take on The Odyssey much, much better than something like Troy, which was fine but nothing we couldn't have lived without. A collaboration between George Miller and Brad Pitt, though? That's practically guaranteed to be worth our time.

If they are going to do a sequal, they may as well do it correctly.
No Achilles. No Hector. Sean Bean as Odyseus. Only then will it be worth going to see.

Troy is to epic to have a sequel????
Do you realize that original text from which Troy is extracted, The Iliad, DOES have a sequel, called The Odyssey...

Plus they're not talking about making it into a sequel, but rather adapting the sequel, The Odyssey, into a sci-fi epic. Because The Odyssey follows the journey of Odysseus, who in Troy was played by Sean Bean.

I don't think any studio right now would green-light a live action epic starring Sean Bean. Hence why the talks about getting Pitt to be Odysseus and changing the genre to outer space.

Sounds ridiculous. Troy is too epic of a movie to have a sequel. It will ruin the first one. I for one never expected for there to be a sequel to Troy. Plus..OBVIOUS OBVIOUS...Achilles is dead! Remember? Paris shot him. They might as well bring Hector back if they're going to bring back Achilles from the dead! However if they do make a sequel they had better do a pretty good job 'cause I am going to be EXTREMELY critical about it. Plus they HAVE HAVE HAVE to bring Josh Groban back to sing the song for the end credits. Remember from the first Troy is one of my favorite songs ever!
