Heath Ledger was the reason why I'm so into Batman movies now.He also made me love The Joker so much.He made The Joker's character truly legendary.He deserves every freaking Oscar nomination he could get his hands on.His death has nothing to do with the nomination.So,what are you waiting for?HEATH FOR OSCAR!!Support from me 300%!

I think Heath Ledger should be nominated even though he is dead because he did an AMAZING job in the Batman movie.

had he not died he would still would have been nominated and deserves to win... so why should his death have anything to do with it!

Hope he gets the Oscar.Nonetheless he will always be one of my favorite actors,and there will never be another Joker.

he totally deserves it, I have yet to see the movie but everybody talks about him in that role plus he's a kickass actor

you all need to realize that they do not take comic book movies seriously ( same as comedies) no matter how well any character is played in it. i agree that he deserves to be nominated and win the award. but it is sad to say that this will most likely be another great role that will be over looked for no real reason.

If he doesn't win, I bet anyone that the oscars will be cancelled in 2010 as no one will take them seriously anymore (well, it is the most boring show on Earth at the minute but at least everybody will be anxious to see him win!) How can there be an hesitation in giving him the Oscar? it's clearly the best performance of the year even century, hence all the money it took!!!!! HEATH FOR THE OSCAR!!!!!

They also must consider for Lead Actor award... Forest Whitaker did lesser screen appearance than James McAvoy in The Last King Of Scotland but it was considered lead role.... way to go Heath... R.I.P.. the rest is up to the fans..... \m/

When I saw this film, I was amazed with the quality of acting right across the board. I reckon every cast member really gave their all. This has not been the case in other comic book films (Mind you, Robert Downey Jr. was great in Iron Man). The Spider Man series was passable and the first Hulk film was barely up to scratch. But the Dark Knight cast were outstanding. Having said that, Heath acted the pants off the others and I think proved once and for all that Aussie actors can cut it with the best of them. A brilliant performance. Give the man an Oscar!

Oh my goodness Heath Ledger NEEDS NEEDS NEEDS to win!! No one this year has done one TENTH as good as Heath Ledger!! I will be praying that the campaign goes well.

I hope he wins, because I am actually a big fan of the Batman, and hands down so far he has been the best villian of all time. He was just fantastic!

i need to see this for myself, heath was amazing in 10 things i hate about you and apparently, even more so in this film, it would be nice to see his life celebrated with his final film being his finest performance.

he'll certainly be nominated, but it's hard to see if he'll win.
