Ireland's The Drogheda Independent reports that filming on Perrier's Bounty has begun in the fishing village of Clogherhead. The filmmakers chose Sharkey's Pub to stand in as a Dublin pub for a father-son scene between Jim Broadbent and Cillian.
"They asked us to pick ten locals here to act as extras," explains Thomasina McGuigan, sister of owner Fergal Sharkey. "They were taken up to wardrobe, which were in these huge trucks, and dressed as local drinkers. ... [The cast and crew] were very down to earth and Cillian was outside having a cigarette with us after all the scenes were finished. ... He's a small, slight guy, very handsome and he has a very powerful voice when he's acting. Everyone was fascinated, it was amazing to see how it was shot and how long it took to shoot just one scene."
A few other scenes were filmed locally, as shown in the somewhat grainy photo. I must admit, I'm excited to see Cillian costumed in an outfit he himself might wear, instead of more period gear (as much as I enjoy that too).
