Original series concept to receive live-action treatment
Anime production company AIC signed an agreement with a Singapore movie company CUBIX International to bring the popular cyber-punk anime series Bubblegum Crisis to live action status in the US and abroad in 2011. Cubix production budget plan is in several billions (Yen) for this film, and both studios plan to bring Shinji Aramki and Kenichi Sonoda on board as consultant for the movie to. Both worked on the original series that came out in 1987 under the anime production company ARTMIC, which was dissolved in 1997. AIC obtain the rights to the series that same year.
The popular of the anime series brought forth a spin-off series and an OVA (A.D Police, Parasite Dolls).
