DreamWorks Confirms Madagascar 3 is Coming

DreamWorks' Jeffrey Katzenberg was on hand at the Television Critics Association press tour today to help promote The Penguins of Madagascar, the upcoming Nickelodeon animated series spinoff of the successful Madagascar films. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa was only recently released, but at the event, Katzenberg was asked if there will be a third film in the series.
Replied Katzenberg, "Yes, we are making a Madagascar 3 now, and it will be out in the summer of 2012," indicating that work on the film was already underway.
Katzenberg said that DreamWorks Animation was very happy with the performance of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, which has made over $500 million dollars worldwide at the box office.
