Joshua Jackson Auditioned for Kirk Role in "Star Trek"

During the New York Comic-Con, "Fringe" star Joshua Jackson revealed that he auditioned for two different "Star Trek" role, among them Captain James T Kirk.
"The only audition my darling girlfriend has ever been upset with me for not getting the role is Captain Kirk," said Jackson. "She was like 'Look honey, don't screw this up. It's Captain Kirk. It's a legendary role. It is a tough act to follow.'"
The role eventually went to Chris Pine, but Jackson's audition might have caught the eye of director JJ Abrams, who cast him in his "Fringe" TV show.
Jackson previously revealed other roles that he ended up losing, including taking over for Chevy Chase in "Fletch Won" and the role of James Gordon in "Batman Begins."
