20th Century Fox's upcoming big screen "Dragonball Evolution" adaptation is set to hit US theaters on April 8th, but has already been released in several countries, where it has enjoyed a healthy debut over the weekend.
The movie has already earned $10.1 million from over 2000 screens in eight Asian territories. Screen Daily reports that "Dragonball" "delivered Fox's fourth and third best opening weekends of all time in China and Malaysia, grossing $3.4 million from 855 theaters and $731,441 from 110 theaters, respectively."
"Dragonball Evolution" bowed in second place in both Japan (earning $3.3 million) and South Korea (a $1.2 million gross). The James Wong-directed sci-fi film opened in first place in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.
