Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that Evan Charnov (Fearless) has been hired by Warner Premiere to write the third installment in "The Lost Boys" franchise. The new film will obviously go straight to DVD, just like the incredibly successful sequel did last year.

Corey Feldman will return to produce "The Lost Boys 3" in addition to reprising his role as vampire hunter Edgar Frog. Moviehole has added that Jamison Newlander will also return as Alan Frog in the threequel that will focus on the Frog brothers.

Newlander appeared in the 1987 original, directed by Joel Schumacher, but was edited out of the sequel. And even though the second movie hinted at a possible battle between Edgar Frog and Sam Emerson (Corey Haim), Haim isn't expected to return for "Lost Boys 3."

    Haim wasn't supposed to be in The Tribe and he was, so just because it's listed that he won't be involved doesn't mean he won't.

    I am happy that it's stated that The Tribe was successful, it was a good movie, not like the original, but that's too much to expect.

    =) I'll watch it! I just loved the original Lost Boys, and the sequel actually wasn't that bad! It sucks that Haim most likely won't be in the third though. I wish him the best as he fights his personal demons =(
