Rhys Ifans is joining the cast of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Snitchseeker caught him on the BBC talkshow Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, where he talked about being fitted for his Deathly Hallows wardrobe.
No word on what part he’ll play in the movie, but it’s nice to see Ifans in something high profile again. I had this weird expectation that he’d go on to bigger things, after playing “Spike” in Notting Hill. Somehow that never happened. His most high-profile role since was as Robert Reston in Elizabeth: The Golden Age. At least he’s been busy, appearing in more than 20 films since Notting Hill in 1999. He’ll next appear in The Informers with Mickey Rourke and Billy Bob Thornton.
