Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer - for a movie.

The 31-year-old actress ended her role as Buffy in 2003 after a seven-year run.

Now the feisty character could be making a return on the big screen.

An insider says, "There is an idea for a script and to pick the story up with Buffy older and maybe even a mother.

"Michelle is busy with movie projects at the moment but she is excited about the idea. Buffy still has a huge fan-base so this is a movie that already has an audience.

"Michelle is a shrewd businesswoman so the chances are this will happen at some point.

    Hey if they put the movie into the future we wuld ave to assume that Buffy had forgiven Angel for running Wolfram & Hart and then that the Immortal was outta the picture and that Angel had actually survived the thousands of demons that were bout to kill him all at once at the end of his series
    Then you would have to bring in one of the potentials Kennedy coz if you want Wilow back then your gunna have her
    Dawn will either b in college or kiking ass with buffy so your gunna have her
    Giles will b helping with potentials so yeah your gunna have a fair few of the annoying characters
    And then if Buffy is gunna b a mother then she obviously isnt with Angel then coz he signed over his chance to b human
    Alot will have to change if they are gunna stay true to the series
    And if shes a mother then she wuld be more paternal and less fiesty...

    Ok, the series of buffy and angel were good at the start and then the inevtiable happened. Too many characters entered e.g. all the slayers, her sister etc and to be honest I wanted them all to die because they were all so annoying and constantly trying to be funny.

    Along with the fact that she never hardly killed any vampires, therefore contradictng the title. If they were to make a new movie, please don't have the 30+ main characters, keep it down to the minimum (the orignal characters) and please make it about vampires! Not all the bug eaters etc.

    But I would only want it to happen if Xander, Willow, Giles, Angel, etc. are in the movie, too (same actors).

    As much as I love BtVS and Angel, I think they should just let sleeping dogs lie. If they do a movie it's just gonna be depressing because of all the people who died at the end of both series

    I would love to go see this if they had James Marsters reprise his role as Spike but hes too old to play him. How can you bring an almost 50 year old guy back to play a never-aging character? I know they could do a bunch of CG to make him look younger but I'm scared that it would turn out terrible like when Arnold came back as the terminator in Terminator 3:Rise of the Machines.

    I would run to the movies to see this. I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. That was my favorite show on tv!~My fingers are crossed. :)
