Ever since Daniel Craig joined the James Bond franchise, fans have been arguing if it is better than the Jason Bourne one, which is currently planning a fourth installment.
But the difference between the two series is becoming more and more blurred, ever since Bond's producers started borrowing talent from the Bourne films, like the stunt coordinator for "Quantum of Solace." Since the franchises are so similar, it would only make sense to do that, which is why the producers are now looking to the Borne films to find their Bond 23 director.
One name that keeps coming up is Tony Gilroy, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for the George Clooney-starrer "Michael Clayton" and has previously co-wrote the scripts for all three Jason Bourne films. The choice seems to be obvious, since Gilroy knows how to write an action film and is clearly a talented director.
Unfortunately, Gilroy may not be interested in switching franchises. Back in 2007, he said that Bourne is "a different model [than Bond]. It's not about wardrobe and clothes, it's not about 'shaken not stirred.' It's not about the Walther PPK or about the equipment. You can't strap it on somebody else. It's really about this guy. It's very intimate, that's its value. That's why it's so popular."
