Is Marvel Rebooting Daredevil? 870

Is Marvel Rebooting Daredevil? 870

These days, there are a lot of new sources for news and scoops and one of the oddest ones might be the local comic shop who have become the go-to place for actors hoping to get coveted roles in the latest superhero movie.

The blog for the Los Angeles-based store Golden Apple Comics spotted one such actor when "Battlestar Gallactica" star Katee Sackhoff went there to buy every single comic featuring Typhoid Mary she could get her hands on with "hopes to get a part for a marvel movie."

Comic fans will realize right away that Typhoid Mary is the longtime foe (and lover) of Marvel's Daredevil, a mutant with a multiple personality who develops various powers depending on which personality inhabits her at the time. She was created by Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr., first appearing in their run with Daredevil #254.

That makes one wonder whether Marvel Studios are already looking into possibly relaunching Daredevil on the big screen, following the Mark Steven Johnson version starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, which came out in 2003. Natassia Malthe played Typhoid in the 2005 spin-off Elektra with Garner. Typhoid also appeared in the early "Deadpool" comics, so this might be for the Deadpool spin-off with Ryan Reynolds.

Check out Golden Apple's blog post here and decide for yourself whether Marvel is setting their sights on relaunching Daredevil like they did with The Incredible Hulk last year, and then let us know how you feel about it below.

SHEILD offering Mr Stark a place in a venture thus we now bring u the beginnings of the Mighty Avengers!

It seems a long time in the making I grant you, but if you think of it, it does make sense to get the public introduced and familiar with the various superheros along the way and then bring them altogehter in one big block buster against a common foe. If this is done right then the spinoffs will be tremendous pushing the franchise further to a new audience who havent grown up with the marvel comics. Tis as a summer time block buster release could have the potential to put bums on seats and rival previous box office smashes like Transformers, independence day, Durrasic Park & the Indiana Jones sargas.

whatch this space 2012 roll on

What everyone seems to be missing is not so much the return of Daredevil, which would not be such a big thing in the scheme of things, but the emergence of The Mighty Avengers! This is the new big thing which will hit the screens within the next few years.

Drawing on some of our favorits if the comics are anything to go buy. I prdicted that this would be the ultimate in the Marvel superhero sarga back in the early mid 90s with the Xmen and the Hulk along with the emergence of the Silver Surfer etc.

I thought in all honesty that Steven Speilburg would be the guy that would bring it to us but alas no. How ever the first reminence of this as being more fact than fiction comes from the very last scene of Iron Man which was released earlier. They snuk it in so to speak under the radar for those who stayed long enough in the picture house to see the last bits of the rolling credits at the end. Then bang the bomb shell was dropped by a well known black actor possing as the director

im one of the people that LOVED the first daredevil despite not being a ben affleck fan AT ALL. rebooting is a terrible idea. the first was good enough. build on that.

the same goes for fantastic four. the strong rumor is that they are rebooting this as well, i loved the first two the way they were.

i love how Marvel is seeming to have the attitude of "if we screw it up the first time, don't worry - we'll just do it again!"
small consolation for Mark Stephen Johnson though :P
    cheers
